The No 1 Muslim Ladies’ Cycling Club – Times Online

Picking through the morning papers, I was happy to stumble across Kate Bartlett's happy article about a Muslim Ladies Cycling Club here in London.  Despite opposition from some of their community, increasing numbers of Muslim women in East London are riding into new cultural territory with their local cycling club. Having just returned from a mixed-faith cycle tour with The Woolf Institute in Israel and Egypt, it was a joy to read and proof that cycling really is the universal mode of transport.

    I’m Muslim & while not a hardcore cyclist, I do like my hybrid bike. I also wear a Hijab, and it’s pretty fun getting all the surprised and confused looks by people who are simultaneously trying to look open-minded lol
