In the spring of 2009 I loaded my touring bicycle and rolled onto a Brittany Ferry from Portsmouth to Santander in North West Spain. The green north coast of the Iberian peninsula makes the perfect setting for a cycling holiday and a fine introduction to Asturian gastronomy and Northern Spanish cuisine. With snow-caped mountains and the wild Atlantic all within a few kilometers food here here is hearty and fresh. And don’t forget the cider!
