June 2013 at The Hungry Cyclist Lodge

The shirts have come off. Frenchmen are jetting washing their Renaults and the whiff of grilled meat is in the air. The summer has now officially arrived here in Burgundy and its a stunner! The last few weeks have been bathed in glorious sunshine and the vines and garden are now coming on a treat.

It’s been hot and dusty work in The Hungry Cyclist Lodge, but after a long wait the interior stud walls are in place, the windows and doors have arrived and the months of destruction and dust are almost behind me. With all this sunshine the swimming pool here has been a God-send and with the vegetable patch exceeding all my expectations life in Burgundy is very, very good. June has been a month of cherries, brocante, picnics and swimming. Long may it continue.

I’m setting off on another gourmet wine and cycling week with DuVine Cycle and Adventure Company and five clients lucky enough to have The Hungry Cyclist to show them around, but just before I slip into my spandex and apron here are a collection of images from The Hungry Cyclist Lodge & Garden in June.
