How Does Your Garden Grow?

Radio 4, Test Match Special, curry, friends, family, real ale. People often ask what I miss most when I'm out in the road. Now the book is done I am fast planning my next big trip, and I have trips to France, Taiwan and Germany booked, there is a new addition to my list of things I will be missing. My garden

Since moving to Tooting in South London after my return from Brazil my garden has become my refuge. While writing it was a welcome distraction and to see it now in the early days of summer I know that when I next leave it will be a sad goodbye to a tiny  corner of London I have come to love. With the poppies, holly hocks, digitalis, fox gloves and alliums all in bloom, it may not be the Chelsea Flower Show, but I love it and to see its transformation from a wild rubble-filled yard some 18 months ago makes me happy.

Here are some photos from over the last few months that I will be peeping at when away to remind me of a quite little corner I can come home to at the end of the next big trip.
