Arise Sir Bradley – Info-graphic to Celebrate Our Tour de France Champion
The British have never had much luck in The Tour De France, but in 2012 this changed thanks to Bradley Wiggins ,who as well as winning the race, also managed to beat the record for the amount of days a Brit has worn the coveted yellow jersey. He rode the 2172 miles in 87 hours, 37 minutes and 47 seconds.
Wiggins managed to maintain his momentum and further cement his status of “Britain’s golden boy of cycling” by winning a gold medal in last weeks Olympics time trial, in turn making him now The UK’s most decorated athlete.
His fine performances in recent weeks have not gone unrecognised, as well as appearing on the front of every British newspaper over the last few weeks, there are calls for him to be knighted and he is now the bookies favourite to win “Sports Personality Of The Year 2012”
